DESCRIPTION:Just in case visitors during grad week are looking for a BIG experience! \nDeep Upper Park Loop\nDifficulty Level: Difficult\nDistance: Approximately 5.2 miles round trip.\nElevation Gain: Approximately 1\,100 feet.\nTime: Approximately 4 hours. \nThis loop brings it all. Starting at Bear Hole\, we’ll experience some of the wildest parts of Upper Bidwell Park. Don’t forget your camera because this loop will have some of the most photogenic views of the park – from Salmon Hole and Iron Canyon to top-of-the-canyon views along North Rim. \nTrail Hazards: Uneven\, rocky terrain. Steep drop-offs at view points along trail. Steep climb along Live Oak Trail which may require hands for balance & support. Strenuous climbs. Note – this hike begins at the Bear Hole parking area. If the gate into Upper Park is closed past Horseshoe Lake by the City of Chico (wet weather)\, then this adventure will be canceled and full refunds will be provided.

DESCRIPTION:May is starting to warm up but we’ll get this adventure in the bag before noon. There’s a perfect “rock window” for you to make a pose! We’ll also be able to peer deep into Big Chico Creek Canyon. \nRedbud Loop\nDifficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult\nDistance: Approximately 3 miles round trip.\nElevation Gain: Approximately 525 feet.\nTime: Approximately 2 hours. \nThis route will explore the flank of North Rim along the Upper Trail and force a climb up the steep Redbud Trail. You’ll be rewarded with amazing views deeper into Upper Park to compliment the views from Monkey Face\, which we’ll visit on the way back on this loop. \nTrail Hazards: Uneven\, rocky terrain. Steep climb at the top of the Redbud Trail which may require hands for balance & support. Steep drop-offs.
