SUMMARY:South Rim Loop
DESCRIPTION:This loop has two of our favorite things during the month of March – wildflowers popping up while on top of South Rim\, and cushy moss and ferns still enjoying the shady Guardian Trail! \nSouth Rim Loop\nDifficulty Level: Difficult\nDistance: Approximately 2.9 miles round trip.\nElevation Gain: Approximately 550 feet.\nTime: Approximately 2.5 hours. \nSouth Rim will quickly bring beautiful views of Big Chico Creek Canyon from atop Peregrine Point. This loop ties in the most scenic section of the shaded Guardian Trail for some interesting cliff-side scenery. \nTrail Hazards: Uneven\, rocky terrain. Steep drop-offs at view points along trail. Steep climb/descent along South Rim Trail & connecting trails which may require hands for balance & support. \n\nLearn more about the Chico Beyond Adventure experience here!\nAll participants must sign a Waiver & Release of Liability Form prior to participating. This only needs to be completed once per participant. Paper copies will be available at the trailhead.

SUMMARY:Alligator Bluff
DESCRIPTION:This short hike has so much greenery in the spring! \nAlligator Bluff \nDifficulty Level: Easy to Moderate\nDistance: Approximately 2 miles round trip.\nElevation Gain: Approximately 200 feet.\nTime: Approximately 1.5 hours. \nA short introduction to the beginning of the Annie Bidwell Trail and South Rim. Although this is the shortest of our hikes\, there’s a lot of variety packed into this one. The trip starts with shady mossy walls and a historical olive orchard before breaking out into the oaken grasslands around Alligator Bluff. \nTrail Hazards: Uneven\, rocky terrain.
